Pancreatic Cancer was thrust into the national spotlight this past year when CMU professor Randy Pausch fought a highly publicized and unfortunately losing battle against this terrible disease. Before his passing, Mr. Pausch diligently lobbied to increase the awareness of pancreatic cancer and it's devastating effects while also fighting for increased monies dedicated to fighting the disease; all of this was done by Mr. Pausch knowing deep down it would not save his own life but may help save the lives of those in the future. The WFPCRF was started after my husband, Wayne, passed away from pancreatic cancer eight years ago, 28 days after his initial diagnosis. The WFPCRF cannot bring back my husband but what it can do is raise money that can be donated directly to pancreatic research here in Pittsburgh, a world leader in that field. Our organization is dedicated to funding research of pancreatic cancer and do so at the University of Pittsburgh where cutting edge and important work is being done. Keeping our donations local is something we pride ourselves on and hope that it can be a source of pride for you as well.
